I just saw 25th hour. A NY-centric movie to be sure. It is also one of the best movies I've seen in a year. I like movies that are daring enough not to have a payoff or a traditional story arc. This one was about the characters. They were placed in a situation at the begining of the movie. That situation never changes. The only thing we see is how these characters react to the brick life has thrown through their window.
